What You Need To Do If You’re Arriving In The UK
As of 4th October 2021, everyone entering England who is not fully vaccinated by an approved programme must:
- Take a lateral flow/rapid antigen test and obtain a negative result prior to travelling to England
- Book and pay for a compulsory Day 2 and 8 travel testing package, so COVID-19 tests can be taken on day 2 and on day 8 of your quarantine (only the Day 2 test is required for fully vaccinated travellers)
- Complete a passenger locator form with details of where you will quarantine upon arrival to the UK, and the Day 2 and 8 travel test package booking reference number
- You may opt-in for Day 5 “Test to Release” to reduce your self-isolation period from 10 days, however you must still take both Day 2 and 8 tests
- If you opt-in for Test to Release, you must book with a private provider for Test to Release who is listed on the government website, such as HealthClic, and obtain your test booking reference number to provide on your passenger locator form.
- Quarantine for 10 days, but with Test to Release, you may reduce the quarantine period by getting a negative PCR test taken on Day 5.
- You must follow separate guidance if you’ve been in a country where travel to the UK is banned. These countries are on the ‘red list’. See the red list countries.
